Helicopter Attack Squadron Light Three, or HA(L)-3, better known as the Seawolves,
operated alongside other units of the Mobile Riverine Force (MRF) in the Mekong Delta region.
Unlike the USMC with their UH-1Es, the Seawolves operated an assortment of hand-me-down UH-1B/C/M
gunships from the US Army. These aircraft featured a number of locally fabricated armament systems in addition to
standard equipment also recieved from the US Army. The Seawolves provided a quick reaction force
for ambushed riverine craft and support for both regular and special operations forces in the
Mekong Delta and in the Rung Sat Special Zone (RSSZ) just South of Saigon.
